+This solution really *****. Can you tell me why this software is on the chipboard? Why was it so important that it would be a permanent part of the drive? It's software for petesake. i.e. ephemeral . I will live with it and only backup weekly but I would really like to know why it's set up like this.-----------thanks+
I had an Apple support person help me set it up so I think it's working fine with Time Machine and I haven't done anything to enable the SmartWare.
My question is;
Assuming there is something malicious with the SmartWare is there any danger from it just being on the external drive and not activated?
